Highlights

Having problems with regularity? Constipation? Bloating? Pascoe Legapas Can Help!
There are few things more frustrating than feeling backed up and constipated. Legapas 45ml drops is Pascoe's herbal laxative used to help relieve your acute or chronic constipation. Legapas is a stimulant laxative and softens stool to alleviate symptoms associated with constipation and digestive disturbances. Legapas will help with symptoms such as straining to have a bowel movement, lumpy or hard stools and passing fewer than three stools a week. It can also be used in cases of bloating and feeling as though you have had an incomplete bowel movement.

What is a Stimulant Laxative and Stool Softener?
Stimulant Laxatives, such as Legapas, contain active ingredients that irritate the large intestines to trigger rhythmic contractions to help eliminate stool. Popular over-the-counter laxatives include bisacodyl (Correctol, Dulcolax), sennosides (Ex-Lax, Senokot), castor oil, and the plant cascara. Legapas is made from a fluid extract of 500 mg Cascara Sagrada. This laxative is one of the faster-acting types of laxatives for constipation.

Legapas is a laxative that also helps to add moisture to the stool to prevent hardening. Stool softeners inhibit the reabsorption of water and electrolytes from the digestive system. Because of this, stool volume increases in the colon as it absorbs the extra water. Legapas is able to improve stool consistency and speed up bowel movements to relieve constipation. Stool softeners of similar character include Docusate, Bisacodyl, Colace and Pedia-lax. These laxatives may also come in the form of a suppository. A suppository is another way to deliver a laxative for constipation.

How to use Legapas for Constipation Relief!
For a fast and effective relief, Legapas will relieve acute or chronic constipation within 6 to 12 hours. This remedy is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and older. The typical dose of 30-50 drops should be consumed orally once a day in half a cup of warm or hot water. Legapas can be taken either in the morning or evening.

Pascoe Legapas is intended for short-term laxative use only. For relief of constipation, do not use for more than 7 consecutive days. Legapas is not habit-forming and will not cause drug tolerance. Do not use the laxative within 2 hours of another medication. Legapas is available in 45 ml drops.

The active ingredient in Pascoe's herbal remedy Legapas, cascara sagrada, is generally a well-tolerated laxative. In some cases, the side effects of cascara sagrada are mild and transient. They may include abdominal cramps and electrolyte imbalance. Long term use or abuse of any laxative can cause adverse side effects. "Cathartic" colon with diarrhea, weight loss, cramps, and darkened pigmentation of the colonic mucosa have been reported.

Made with the naturally sourced active ingredient, 500 mg Cascara Sagrada fluid extract
How does Cascara Sagrada Work?
Traditionally used as a laxative, Legapas is made with the naturally sourced active ingredient 500 mg Cascara Sagrada fluid extract. The stimulant laxative contains active laxative components. The plant metabolites include anthraquinone derivatives and their glucosides, referred to as cascarosides. These components locally irritate the large intestines to promote peristalsis and relieve constipation. Anthraquinones are considered stool softeners. Cascara is very gentle which results in fewer loose or watery stools. While encouraging bowel movements, cascara sagrada also tones the entire alimentary canal. It does so by increasing the secretions of the stomach, liver, and pancreas.

Cascara Sagrada found in Legapas is considered a valuable laxative and stool softener. Unlike its counterparts, such as senokot, castor oil, or ex-lax, cascara is unique. The toning effects of cascara help the bowels to function regularly. This means you do not have to frequently increase the dosage or use the laxative long-term. The natural laxative cleanses the colon and strengthens the bowel. It also restores the muscular structure of the digestive tract.
